Where it All Began

EN Circle Lisbon was created from a simple yet deeply felt idea:
meaningful connections are often overlooked.

We created this space to meet beyond roles and expectations,
where conversations flow naturally through presence, and shared moments.

It is not about who you are on paper,
but who you are when you are simply there.

Rooted in Asian cultural sensibilities yet open to all,
EN Circle brings together people who value depth, openness,
and the rare experience of truly meeting another person — as they are.

What is "EN"?

"EN" comes from the Japanese (縁), and is also found in Chinese (緣) and Korean (연).
It represents meaningful connections, encounters, and the invisible threads that bring people together.

EN

Connection (縁)

A bond between people that is not merely accidental, but quietly inevitable. In a city like Lisbon, where cultures meet and paths cross, these encounters take on a special meaning.

EN

Feast (宴)

A moment of gathering around a table, through conversation, through shared laughter. Across cultures, food remains one of the oldest and most universal ways people come together.

EN

Circle (円)

The form through which connection expands. Encounters give rise to gatherings, and gatherings, in turn, create new connections — forming an ever-evolving circle.

EN CIRCLE Lisbon

Our logo, the vertical red seal "EN", historically used across East Asia, symbolizes continuity, identity, and the crossing of borders.

With each imprint, the circle expands — quietly, naturally, and without borders.
Each time the seal is pressed, new connections unfold and expand.

About Us

We first met as participants on an EU-funded exhibition on Asian migration. The exhibition has been presented in a university and a museum in Lisbon in 2025 and 2026.

Jayma (Philippines), Sammi (China), and Reina (Japan, with Korean roots) come from different cultural and personal backgrounds, yet were brought together through a common thread of living between cultures, and navigating what it means to belong.

Together, we are creating EN Circle Lisbon – a space for people to come together not defined by roles or origins, but through presence, shared experiences, and genuine connection.

Rooted in Asian perspectives yet open to all, EN Circle brings together individuals who have, in different ways, been shaped by Asia – whether through heritage, experience, or affinity – within the unique context of Lisbon, a city where cultures naturally meet and intertwine.
